About polandsalary.com
A free calculator that shows what you actually keep from a salary or an invoice in Poland, month by month, in plain English or Polish. It is made for people who work in Poland, especially those who are new to the Polish system.
What it does
- Four contracts: employment contract (umowa o pracę), B2B (sole trader, JDG), mandate contract (umowa zlecenie) and specific-work contract (umowa o dzieło).
- Every month of the year separately, because the numbers change during the year: the 32% tax bracket, the yearly ZUS cap (30× limit), bonuses, sick leave and days off.
- From gross to take-home, or the other way round: the gross you need for the net you want.
- B2B: all three tax forms (flat-rate ryczałt, 19% linear, tax scale), ZUS stages including start relief and preferential ZUS, and the ryczałt rate for your job title.
- Compare contracts for the same budget, and see what an employee costs the employer.
- Tax years 2024–2026.
How the numbers are calculated
The rules come from Polish law and official rates: the personal income tax act (ustawa o PIT), ZUS contribution rates, the health insurance rules and the Labour Code. Each result section in the calculator links to the sources it uses.
Each month is calculated the way payroll or an accountant would do it: social security (ZUS), health insurance, tax-deductible costs (KUP), then the income tax advance, rounded to whole złoty as the law requires. Things that happen once a year, such as joint filing with a spouse or the child relief, are shown as a separate refund or payment instead of being spread over the months.
All of this runs as code in your browser. There is no server doing the maths, so the answer appears as you type.
How accurate it is
It is a careful estimate, not a payslip and not tax advice. The calculation is tested against real 2026 payslips, and we fix differences as soon as we find them. Still, your real numbers can differ slightly.
Common reasons for a difference:
- Your employer's payroll settings, for example paying a month in arrears or booking a bonus in a different month.
- Benefits such as medical care or a sports card, and how your employer taxes them.
- Rates that depend on the employer, such as accident insurance and PPK.
- Your personal situation: other income, reliefs, joint filing, or a change in the law during the year.
For decisions that matter (signing a contract, choosing a tax form, filing your return) please confirm with your payroll department, an accountant (księgowa) or a tax adviser (doradca podatkowy). If you find a difference, tell us: it helps everyone.
Your data
- No account, no cookies.
- What you type stays in your browser. It is kept in this tab only and is gone when you close it, unless you turn on Remember my numbers on this device; then it stays in this browser for next time, until you turn that off. It is never sent to us. Clear data removes it.
- Share links carry your numbers inside the link, after the #, and only when you create one. Browsers never send that part to a server, so we don't see them, but anyone you give the link to does.
- Feedback is the only thing that reaches our server, and only when you send it: your message, an email address if you add one, and which tab and language you used. No calculator figures. Kept for one year, and emailed to us so we can read it.
- Visit statistics, when enabled, are cookieless: they count pages viewed, never what you type, and respect Do Not Track.
- Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
